6 DIFFERENT PARENTING STYLES:


AUTHORITARIAN:
Disciplines the child often. induces fear and tracks every move. Demanding and low in affection.


OVERPROTECTIVE:
Smothers the child with extreme affection without truly connecting. Pretends the child is perfect.


PRESSURE:
Tries to live vicariously through the child, who has to be perfect and achieve. Appearance is key.


ABUSIVE:
Emotionally or physically abuses their child, causes. confidence issues and has strong negative influence.


DISSOCIATIVE:
Lenient, not present and neglects their child’s. needs. Can’t deal with emotions or connect with their children.


SECURE:
Affectionate, responsive and low in conflict, but still has demands and boundaries. Guides and regulates child.

Parenting styles shape a child’s growth and personality. While authoritarian or abusive approaches can cause fear and harm, overprotective and dissociative methods can lead to disconnection. Secure parenting balances affection, boundaries, and guidance, creating a supportive and nurturing environment where children can thrive emotionally and mentally.
