The family of Hubert Gauthreaux, 21, shared the heartbreaking last text he sent before losing his life in a tragic New Year’s Eve attack in New Orleans. Hubert was killed when Shamsud-Din Jabbar, a US Army veteran, drove a pickup truck into a crowd on Bourbon Street, turning the festive celebration into a scene of horror.
Authorities revealed that Jabbar rented an electric Ford pickup truck and intentionally bypassed police barricades to target pedestrians. The FBI reported finding videos on social media showing Jabbar expressing admiration for ISIS and his intent to harm others.
President Joe Biden addressed the nation following the attack, condemning the act of violence and highlighting the need to prevent such tragedies.
