In the tragic of Bengaluru techie Atul Subhash suicide case, the focus now shifts to the bail plea of his wife, Nikita Singhania, accused of harassment and extortion. Atul’s lawyer, Akash Jindal, has urged the court not to allow Nikita to use their child to gain bail.

The bail hearing, scheduled for January 4, follows serious allegations from Atul’s family. They claim Nikita and her family demanded a Rs 3 crore divorce settlement, leading to Atul’s tragic demise.

The case has also sparked a custody battle over the couple’s 4-year-old child. Atul’s family alleges the child has been used as leverage by Nikita. “She treated the child like an ATM, demanding large sums of money,” said Pavan Kumar Modi, Atul’s father, who fears for the child’s safety if Nikita is granted bail.

In response to these concerns, a habeas corpus petition was filed in the Supreme Court. Authorities from Uttar Pradesh, Karnataka, and Haryana have been directed to locate the child, with further custody decisions pending.

Meanwhile, Atul’s brother, Bikas Kumar, expressed satisfaction with the police investigation and reaffirmed the family’s determination to secure the child’s custody. “We are focused on protecting the child and ensuring justice for Atul,” he said.

The court’s decision on this high-profile case will be closely watched as it addresses issues of family, justice, and child welfare.
