In a heart-wrenching case, the father of Atul Subhash, a man who tragically died by suicide in Bengaluru, has filed an FIR in Bihar seeking the custody of his 2-year-old grandson. Atul’s death, allegedly due to harassment over a Rs 3 crore divorce settlement, has left his family devastated. The district police in Samastipur have forwarded the complaint to Jaunpur police in Uttar Pradesh for further action.
Pawan Modi, Atul’s father, is deeply concerned about the safety of his grandson, expressing that he has only seen the child once via video call. He fears for the child’s well-being and insists that the boy be placed in his care for a better future. Modi has questioned why the child’s whereabouts have not been disclosed, suspecting that the child is not in a safe environment.
Meanwhile, the legal battle continues as Modi’s son-in-law, Vikas Modi, appeals for stricter laws against dowry harassment. The case has caught the attention of the Supreme Court, which has instructed the police in three states, including Uttar Pradesh, to locate the missing child and provide a report by January 7.
Atul Subhash, who worked in an automobile company, left behind a 90-minute video and a 40-page death note, which revealed his despair and the reasons behind his tragic decision. He expressed his wishes for his son, including giving custody to his parents, and criticized the legal system for not protecting him from the alleged harassment.
