Work Stress Hurting Intimacy and Fertility

Doctors are raising concerns about how work stress and long hours are affecting couples’ relationships, leading to problems with intimacy and fertility. Many couples are finding it hard to spend quality time together, which is causing emotional strain and making it difficult to conceive.

Experts say that high stress levels, irregular work shifts, and lack of work-life balance are major reasons behind these issues. Dr. Padma Srivastava, a gynecologist, shared that 6 out of 10 couples aged 27-35 complain about low libido and lack of intimacy due to stress. She sees 4-5 couples every week struggling with these problems.

Dr. Nisha Pansare, a fertility specialist, added that stress hormones like cortisol can harm reproductive health, affecting ovulation in women and sperm quality in men. She noted that 7 out of 10 couples face intimacy issues because they can’t balance work and personal life.

Doctors suggest that couples focus on managing work stress, eating healthy, and exercising regularly to improve their chances of conceiving. For those facing difficulties, treatments like IVF (in vitro fertilization) can help. They also recommend open communication and spending quality time together to strengthen relationships.

This growing issue highlights the need for better work-life balance and early medical advice for couples dreaming of parenthood.
